From £180 per return
Frome · Fixed monthly fees
Three of us, on Cheap Street, looking after sole traders, small limited companies and the self-employed around Frome. Bookkeeping, VAT, year-end accounts, self-assessment and payroll.
The year in four dates
Most of the panic in a small business’s year comes from four dates. Here they are in plain English, and what we do about each one.
The return and the tax bill are both due on this date. We aim to have your return filed by the end of November, so you know the figure two months before you have to find it.
Anything that belongs in this year’s figures has to happen before this date — a pension payment, a piece of equipment, a dividend. If something should, we tell you in February.
Under Making Tax Digital a quarter is filed and paid one month and seven days after it closes. We work to the week before that, so a query never costs you the deadline.
Payslips before payday, the RTI submission on the day you pay people, and the PAYE itself cleared by the 19th of the month after. Pension contributions follow the same rhythm.
Deadlines shift when they fall on a weekend, and the penalties don’t care either way. Keeping track of that is our job, not yours.
What we do
Take one of them or take all four. Whatever you take, it is quoted as a monthly fee before we start.

Fixed monthly fee

Fixed monthly fee
Year-end accounts, corporation tax and Companies House filings on a fixed monthly fee — including the confirmation statement everybody forgets.

Not a portal, not a ticket number, not a callback window. Ring during the working day and one of the three of us picks it up. If we are with a client, you hear back the same afternoon — and asking a question has never been a billable event here.
+447700900212Who you would be dealing with
No account managers and no staff turnover. The person who does your books this year is the person who did them last year.
Director · company accounts
Started the practice above the shop on Cheap Street in 2014, after eleven years in a Bath firm she describes as “perfectly nice, and far too big”.
Bookkeeping · VAT
Lives in Xero and knows what every trade in town actually spends its money on. He is the one who notices the figure that looks wrong in March rather than next January.
Payroll · self-assessment
Runs payroll for a good share of the independent shops in Frome, and files more self-assessment returns before Christmas than most firms manage all January.
Bring last year’s accounts, or bring nothing at all. We will tell you what we would do, what it would cost you each month, and — now and then — that you do not need us yet.
